Fantastic Summer Student Opportunity With Leading O&g Producer

Our Business Information & Technology (BI&T) department has an exciting Summer Student opportunity based in Grande Prairie commencing in May, 2012. This unique position is designed to provide Information Technology students with a career path that starts by gaining valuable field operations experience, while at the same time familiarizing them with Devon's BI&T department.
Devon operates with worker safety, regulatory compliance, environmental sensitivities and community engagement at top of mind. All new students receive wellsite safety, driving and regulatory training upon hire.

Responsibilities:

Start up or shut down operational equipment as required
Work with the area operators to optimize production
Pigging of flow lines as required
Ensure that all wells and associated facilities are kept in safe, environmentally friendly and tidy condition
Troubleshoot operational problems as required
Optimize and maintain oil and gas production equipment. Prepare, maintain and submit daily reports, record maintenance support provided, inventory logs and scheduled services, etc.
Optimize and maintain oil and gas production and lease expenses. Prepare, maintain and submit daily reports and records of daily gas and/or liquid volume, well pressure and volume of chemicals used, etc.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in an Information Technology, Computer science or Commerce/Management Program
Keen learner possessing effective skills in observation and communication
Demonstrate positive attitude and strong ability to effectively work within a diverse team environment
Willingness to accept new challenges and seek growth within a supportive learning environment
Must be physically fit and have valid driver's license
